Hello Dallas!

We made it to Dallas. After getting up super early and leaving St. Louis at 4am on Thursday, we made it to Oklahoma City by lunch time. just in time to have lunch at one of the local breweries. The drive took us just about 8 hours. We were able to hang out at the hotel, walk around the downtown area where we fed the ducks, watched the boats on the canal, and saw all the animals and big fish tank at Bass Pro Shops. Then we headed to Toby Keith's restaurant, which is fun and has really good food. Then, we went swimming. We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Bricktown Oklahoma City. Other than some weird plumbing, I would highly recommend the hotel, as the location was great and the pool was a kids' paradise.
After dinner, we decided to take the boat ride tour on the canal all around the downtown area. I love Oklahoma City-it is such a cool place. Then, today we slept in a bit (7am) and had breakfast, made another trip to the pool, then walked around downtown a little more. Finally, we headed to Earl's Rib Palace before getting on the road again. They had a great BBQ pulled pork sandwich...YUM! I think we may be taking a weekend trip back to Oklahoma City in the future-we had a lot of fun there.
We made it to Dallas by dinner time, then went to a local Mexican restaurant called The Blue Goose, which had good chips & salsa and the food was pretty good. We checked into our hotel, aka our new home for the next 24 days! Yikes. Luckily, it is a two bedroom suite with a kitchen. And it does have 3 flat screen TV's. So that is a plus. And it looks like there are a few Starbucks within walking distance along with some decent shopping...I think Chris is a little worried about that. Maybe we won't go completely crazy in a hotel for 3+ weeks, but only time will tell.

Wow, what a great pool for the kids! I'm not sure what I would do for 3 weeks in a hotel with my kids. Yikes! At least you have a kitchen, so you don't have to eat out all of the time and 2 bedrooms.
