A Little Fish...

Here is a video of Connor jumping into the pool with NO floaties on, just holding on to the pool noodle.  He will even attempt to swim by himself to get the pool noodle.  He is doing such a great job in the pool this summer.  We are so very proud!

Pool Party!

This weekend, we went over to a friends house for a BBQ and to go swimming.  What fun!  They have a beautiful home and an awesome backyard---I fell immediately in love with it!  Connor & Dylan had fun playing with all the kids.

It is funny that it was a group of St. Louis people (all who Chris works with) that all moved to Dallas right about the same time.  And all the guys  play softball together.  So, it was fun to get all 5 families together.  Fun times when you get 5 geeks engineers together for a pool party.  Thank goodness their wives are all normal!

Connor did such an AWESOME job swimming by himself!  I don't think we even touched him the entire time.  He was jumping in and swimming the entire length of the pool and everything.  Confidence & some floaties have taken him a long ways in the pool this summer.  We are so proud of him!

And then there is our little Dylan who thinks he can walk on water, swim through it, and drink it until it is gone.

 He loves the water too.  Can you tell?!?  

He does a great job floating by himself.  And when you tell him to kick his feet, his little legs just start moving.  Adorable!  By the way, I was within a few inches of Dylan in the pool while Chris took the pictures...just wanted to clarify so you didn't think that we threw him in the pool by himself while we sipped on margaritas.

Gone Swimming!

Well, the weather hit 90 degrees here this week.  So that meant POOL TIME!  Let me say that I was less than thrilled to get into a swimsuit, but I did it.  For the boys.  Having 2 kids + bikini = unattractiveness.  That is why you will NOT be seeing any pictures of me this summer in a swimsuit.  That is a promise!

Connor & Dylan were so excited to go to the pool.  They happily put their hats on and sat still while I applied sun screen.  Connor got right in.  Dylan was just checking out the water and managed to fall in within the first 3 minutes.  Don't worry, it is less than a foot and a half deep, I was right there to rescue him quickly.  After that, he just wanted to play around the pool.  

So happy!

Fun times at the pool!

Dylan's first time in the pool. He seemed to like it. But oddly enough, it was a little too chilly for him. Crazy nice and pleasant weather in St. Louis in August. But I am not complaining one bit!

Summertime is here...

Ribs, pool, strawberry picking, and yard work! And Thunder Storms...definitely summer!

It is the very beginning of the season, so the strawberries were scattered and it did rain (only sprinkle) on us, but it was so much fun. And the strawberries made pretty good strawberry daquaris and frozen strawberry lemonade. I don't think anything will ever top the wonderful strawberry margaritas we made in California. But we sure will give it a shot.

Connor was thrilled that Jackson brought his Dinosaur chair-good thing Jackson likes to share! Lately, those horns are very fitting on him :-)

We went with our friends Beth & Chris (and their little one Jackson). We had our fix of greasy food for the week! We ate wonderful ribs, a blooming onion, and some sort of fried potatoes. YUM! The boys had fun playing and it was nice to enjoy the cool (80 degrees & humid) beginning of the summer. Gotta love St. Louis summers!

POOL

He really did have fun although the picture doesn't look like it.

We got out the pool in our yard and Connor & the neighbor girl played in it-the water was freezing cold, but they didn't seem to mind. And our subdivision pool opened saturday and we went-Connor had fun playing in the kids pool-it is only about a foot & a half or so deep, so it is wonderful not to have to get in the pool with him. He enjoyed it. I am sure we will spend lots of time there this summer.
