Summertime

 Friday, June 24, 2011

We have spent some time at the pool trying to stay cool and to wear out a certain little two-year-old and a certain little four-year-old :-)

Here's the proof...

And here are a couple videos of the boys jumping in.  Connor is swimming by himself and doing AWESOME.  And Dylan is just as fearless as usual.

Dare I say it is Fall here?

 Tuesday, September 28, 2010

I woke up this morning (and yesterday morning) and was a bit chilly!  It is amazingly awesome!  This morning it was in the low 50's outside!  Honestly, it has been probably been since January since we saw low 50's.  LOL.  So, in celebration of fall, the pumpkins are out in full force.  They are lovely!

Here are some pumpkin pictures from the Dallas Arboretum...

Aren't the pumpkin houses just amazing???

And these boys are pretty cute too...
We had met a few friends there and had a blast.  We ate lunch, then took off.  A perfect morning.  I look forward to going again soon before the pumpkins are all gone.  (This is the same place that had all amazing tulips in Spring, check them out here and here.)

Rain, Rain, Rain!

 Wednesday, September 8, 2010

We woke up to rain again this morning!  I love it!  I got smart and put some lentil soup in the crock pot.  Yum!

Connor put his Dino rain boots on first thing this morning once he heard the rain.  They haven't came off yet...

The boys go crazy being stuck inside...this is what Dylan came up with entertainment this morning:

Just a day at the lake...

 Tuesday, August 24, 2010

The boys loved Papa's boat. The weather was perfect to hang out on the boat for awhile.  Connor & Dylan both had fun driving the boat.

Here are two videos of each of them driving the boat.  They are so cute...

First is Connor driving the boat:

Notice, at the end Connor is telling the other boats to watch out!  Too funny!

And here is Dylan driving the boat:

Dylan liked the buttons more than anything.  Go figure.
Here are a few (okay, a lot) of pictures from the boat...
The boys had both fallen asleep on the way there, we managed to get them in the boat and in the middle of the lake before they woke up!  Too funny.

Spoiled. But lucky for them, they are oh so cute. And oh so sweet. Sometimes.

Teeny Tiny TV

 Sunday, May 23, 2010

This is how the boys were watching a movie this evening while waiting for dinner.  How cute is that?  By the way, this is the first time Dylan has ever really even noticed the tv being on and he was growling at the Donkey in Shrek the whole time.  So funny.  The bulb in our tv went out this weekend, so it has been quiet around this house.  But the good news is that the bulb has been ordered (it wasn't available at any local stores).  So, hopefully we will not be without a tv for too much longer.

Black & White

 Friday, January 22, 2010

I stepped out of my box & took the camera out of auto.  I don't even like the ones I took on the auto setting, maybe this with become the norm for me.  Maybe.  Some of the shots I love, some didn't turn out at all, but some will end up on the wall.  I walked away with a better understanding & had lots of fun.  That is what it is all about.

Connor

Dylan

Here is what I learned:  Connor is too fast for me.  I am still quicker than Dylan.  Dylan lets me get close to him.  Connor does not.  Connor doesn't fall for the silly faces behind the lens.  Dylan does.  Connor runs far away from the camera.  Dylan is completely interested in the camera.  I really want a new lens.  Some of the photos are dark.  Some are light.  But all are perfect representations of each boy.  Connor is active, loves to roar like a dino, and doesn't stop moving.  Dylan is always watching brother, is content playing with the bark, and has many different facial expressions.

I am not going to edit any pictures for awhile, I am just going to keep attempting to shoot them & play around with composition for a few months, then worry about photoshop.  Photoshop still scares me, so I am just going to concentrate on the camera for now.

Growing up way too fast!

 Tuesday, August 11, 2009

Just look at these two adorable boys...

Look at Dylan sitting up! He has been sitting up a lot lately & doing awesome at it. After eating his rice cereal tonight, he decided to sit up in his bouncy seat, which is on an incline! Apparently, he is working on those abs! Way to go Dylan!

And now Mr. Cool thinks he can just get up & go making an escape from his bouncy seat! Boy oh boy-these boys are sure going to give me a run for my money! I am in trouble!

Connor thinks Dylan new trick is pretty cool! He is proud of his little brother!

I told Connor earlier today that we could have ice cream after dinner. I was planning on going to get some frozen custard, but by the time Chris got home from work and we ate dinner, it was too late. Thinking that we had ice cream here, I told Connor we would have some here instead, then he insisted on cake! Luckily, we had cake and no ice cream (apparently we have had too many milkshakes lately!). So, he got his cake and was quick to go to the pantry to retrieve the sprinkles & a birthday candle. Apparently Connor had something to celebrate...maybe he knows something we don't-perhaps about the house?!? Anyways, we lit the candle and he blew it out!

How could you deny this adorable cheesy kid cake & a birthday candle & sprinkles?

I have come to realize my boys are growing up way too fast! Dylan is already sitting up on his own, trying to crawl-he does move across the floor...sometimes rolling, sometimes going backwards, forwards or sideways, but he gets to where they toys & brother are. And he is only 4.5 months! And just tonight for bedtime, Chris was going to read Connor 2 books, well, Chris got up to take a phone call, so I sat down to read to him. The second Chris got off the phone, Connor jumped up and starting pushing me and yelling "GO GO GO GO GO UP UP UP UP GO GO GO GO". We were laughing so hard. But I did get him to say, "Pretty Please GO" Instead of entirely kicking me out of his room and I got a bonus hug & kiss in exchange for leaving his room. I knew this day would come that I am no longer the preferred parent, but I was hoping it would not be until he started sports in a couple more years.
