 Sunday, September 12, 2010

These were Connor's words exactly, "I have too many grandmas!"  Ha.  Only our child would say something like that.  He is a funny kid.  Connor & Dylan are VERY spoiled  well-loved!!!

We are SO thankful & SO grateful for ALL the wonderful Grandparents & great Grandparents we have in the boys (and our) lives.  We love you all very very very much!  Have a wonderful day!  You are all very special to us!  We love you...

Tractor

The boys had fun riding on the 'tractor' with Great Grandpa.  I am pretty sure they were out there for hours.  Finally the sun had gone down and we had to call it a night!

The boys had so much fun.  Glad the boys were able to spend some time at Great Grandpa & Grandmas when we were in Port Angeles.

Spoiled.

 Friday, December 11, 2009

After having Grandpa & Grandma here for a little over 3 weeks, it is now apparent just how spoiled we ALL were.  Yesterday after taking them to the airport, Connor let me know that we "Forgot Starbucks" since we didn't go there and we had left the house.  Then proceeded to say, "Oh, poor Connor, no Starbucks, no naked juice (his fruit smoothie juice he gets from Starbucks), no apple juice, no chocolate milk, oh poor Connor".  Oh my.  Sounds like a poor spoiled little boy, doesn't it?!?  Too funny.

However, after getting the boys to bed, I was saying the same thing, "Oh, poor Mama".  .  I had to do the dishes, clean the kitchen, and pick up the toys.  And take the trash out too.  Boy oh boy, was I (and Chris too) spoiled when they were here.  I think I maybe washed a total of 2 dishes (probably a coffee mug and a spoon).  They swept daily, vacumed every other day, washed all the windows, painted, mended/sewed, ironed, built stuff, put up curtains and curtain rods, fixed the blinds, organized the garage, made breakfast/lunch/dinner on occasion, did the laundry, and did I mention the dishes?!?  Oh, and all the Starbucks?  And the donuts.  And the cookies too.  And the dinners out.  We were well fed!

And the baby-sitting.  Wow, was it ever nice to be able to run to Costco, Lowes, Target, etc. without having to take the kiddos out.  So nice.  Oh and the playing...they were constantly playing with the boys...building stuff, dinos, cars, reading, drawing, etc.  Which is sure to make my life miserable for the next week or so.  But the boys could not have been happier-they loved all the extra attention.

We were so happy they were able to come and visit for such a long time.  After all, it was in the 70's when they got here and in the 20's when they left,  You would think they stayed for 6 months!

Here are some pictures from the fun we had...

Thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you.  We had a wonderful time!

More fun...

Chris is not enjoying his days at home this week painting with a tiny little artist brush from up on a ladder!

Connor & Grandpa enjoying eating cookies together & drawing too.

Dylan is not happy that he doesn't get his own cookie.  Or maybe he is upset at the girly duck outfit.

Connor, Dylan and Grandma trying their luck at some scratch tickets...their luck didn't get them too far.

Dylan is trying so hard to reach those fish!  Poor little guy!

All this play is wearing Connor out!  Hooray!

All good things must come to an end...

 Wednesday, April 15, 2009

Well, Grandpa & Grandma left yesterday...it was wonderful to have them here for three weeks! They made it here just in time...they were here 1 full day, then Dylan decided to make his appearance. Good timing! Connor had a blast playing with them. He would take them by the hand and sit them in the playroom and they would play for hours with animals, trains, cars, coloring, puzzles, legos, and read lots of books! Connor enjoyed all the extra attention & of course being spoiled. Chris & I enjoyed being spoiled too :) Granpa did lots of yardwork & cleaning, while Grandma did lots of laundry & sewing. And of course all the Starbucks & yummy food-such a treat!

It was great not to have to do dished, cook, bathtime, and clean. And we were able to get lots done around the house...garden, lawn mowed, trees trimed, yard weeded, basement cleaned up (I still have some work to do on it), plus lots more. I think Connor kept Grandpa & Grandma busy! We really enjoyed all their help & being able to celebrate Easter with them.

However, the good news is that I have survived my first full day & a half with both kiddos at home by myself. I would say it is a success...I have even managed to get a few things done :) I have done a couple loads of laundry, made dinner last night, showered today (amazing), made chocolate chip banana muffins for breakfast this morning, an omlet with ham, cheese, and pineapple yesterday morning, went for a walk both days, although yesterday was much too cold for a walk. Despite Connor hitting Dylan, it has been a success. Connor is testing me again to see what he can get away with. Unfortunately, Dylan has to suffer. But I told Dylan, "It will either last a couple of days or the rest of your life...Sorry Buddy!" Life is such!
